SKI RACING NEW ZEALAND’S TOP ATHLETE INJURED

AUCKLAND, New Zealand (May 29, 2008) Ski Racing New Zealand is sad to announce that current Volkswagen National Team Member and highest world ranked New Zealander, Ben Griffin was injured whilst training in Christchurch yesterday.
Griffin sustained a fracture to his C7 vertebrae but fortunately there is no nerve damage or paralysis. Under the expert care of a team of spinal specialists led by Dr Heather Jefferies, Griffin will remain in Christchurch hospital.
Family, teammates and coaches are providing the best support for him and all the skiing community wish Ben a speedy recovery.
