A DAY OF RESULTS FOR NEW ZEALAND ATHLETES

Some great results for our New Zealand athletes yesterday, beginning with the Children's FIS races in Slovenia, Nick Prebble finished sixth in the GS, only 0.82 seconds behind the winner, Richard Stevens was 37th and in the slalom Nick finished 19th, Harrison Steedman 31st and Richard 32nd.

Nick & Richard have been training with the Volkswagen National Development Team in Canada and have had some great results in their K2 races.  They have recently moved to Austria to join Harrison Steedman and coach Dominik Schreiber before returning to New Zealand.  These three boys move on to the Topolino event later this month, so check back for updates on their progress.

Andrew Wylie and Leighton Winsloe finished first and second in the CIT slalom race in Le Markstein, France and although neither scored any points these results show that New Zealanders are competing strongly and bodes well for the World Junior Championships later this month in Formigal, Spain.

Lucie Tait Jamieson had a fantastic day in Flums, Switzerland scoring a 48 point GS result, her best ever GS result.  Alice Ralston showed that she is back to her New Zealand form with a 59 point result in the same race.

The Volkswagen National Team are having a short break after their most recent races, where Tim Cafe scored a 33 and 37 in Jenner, Germany, finishing 8th on both days.  Angus Howden has also scored a 37 finishing 14th.  Janelle Miller and Nicola Eves are with Mike Gould at Europa Cup events in Spain, where Nicola finished 48th in her first ever Europa Cup Slalom.

The rest of the Volkswagen National Development Team, minus the injured Taylor Rapley and Jamie Prebble have two series left in Canada before returning home, Harriet Miller Brown scored another podium in her last races and Charlotte and Ali are also continuing the strong form they have shown this season.
