Whistler Cup 2006
A team of 7 young New Zealand athletes will be competing at the prestigious Whistler Cup in Canada from 7th to 9th April.
K1 athletes Finlay Neeson (Turoa) and Byron Wells (Wanaka), and K2 athletes Marilyn Loe (Whakapapa), Courtney Tate (Wanaka), Sam Lee (Wanaka), Ben Ridley (Wanaka) and Sam Weenink (Wanaka) have

all arrived at Whistler following preevent training camps in Canada and the USA.
James Sturgess (Turoa) was also due to compete in the K1 category but has unfortunately broken his arm in training.
The majority of the team travelled overseas on March 23rd; Wells has been based in Park City for the Northern winter training and competing for both Freeski and Alpine events.
Coach John Armstrong and assistant Ben Griffin (National Junior Team) are pleased with the teams preparation.
The athletes will all compete in the Slalom and Giant Slalom with Ben Ridley also competing in the Super-G.
