A fantastic result for Ben Griffin

Ben Griffin has scored 14.55 in a North American Cup Giant Slalom in Sunday River, Maine.  Having had a great first run, Ben skied even faster to finish 6th overall, winning the second run.  This result eclipses his best ever result scored at Coronet Peak in August.  Ben is a key member of the Volkswagen National Ski Team coached by Nils Coberger.  If you want to send your congratulations to Ben please send an email to ben.griffin@tussockgrove.co.nz.  Full results are available here www.fis-ski.com.  This is the best men’s result since Simon Wi-Rutene won the NAC cup in the early ninties.  Congratulations Ben.

Kuu join growing list of Team Sponsors

Ski Racing New Zealand has partnered with Kuu wax and CD sports for a three year sponsorship deal.  Kuu will now be the exclusive supplier of wax and ski preparation equipment to the Volkswagen National Team and the Volkswagen Development Team.  This will see a direct benefit to the athletes of both teams as wax will be supplied to them a considerably lower cost than normal.  Karbon and XTM are two of the other direct equipment suppliers for the teams.

Tim Café & Angus Howden score 30 points

Congratulations go again to Volkswagen National Team members Angus Howden for finishing second and scoring a great 31.01 at a slalom in Nakiska and to Tim Café for scoring 30.37 at an NAC race at Sunday River, Maine.  The men with coach Nils Coberger are off to Europe on 16th January to continue their campaign.  Janelle Miller has remained in Canada to recover from a slight knee injury before she too heads to Europe in mid February, her best results so far this season include a second at a FIS race in Panorama and a 44.87 Super Combi result at the NAC event also in Panorama.
