Season in Review Following a wonderful season for the Volkswagen National Team Member Ben Griffin a review of all our teams results is in order to point out how well everyone else has done. Mark Bridgwater: Mark had his toughest season of his career, finding results very challenging to come by, however he did stick at it finishing with some strong results at the end of the season. One of the highlights of this tough season was Mark's second attempt at a World Cup event in Lake Louise, Canada. Mark's best result was a 39 point finish at Sarntal, Italy. Tim Cafe: Tim completed his first full season, without university commitments with the Volkswagen National Team and Coach Nils Coberger and despite the couple of bumps and brusies was pleased overall with his progress. Tim's season highlight was scoring some wonderful results in North America and his best results were two 30 point results one in GS and one in Slalom. Ben Griffin: Ben has scored some wonderful results, competed in his first World Cup GS at Kranska Gora and generally had a fantastic season. Although Ben's best result was clearly his 14 point GS result, he also had two wonderful SG results and is now ranked inside the top 200 in the world in 3 disciplines. Angus Howden: Angus completed his first full season with Coach Nils Coberger and the Volkswagen National Ski Team. Angus has finished the season ranked second NZ man in Slalom behind Mickey Ross, who is enjoying a great North American season, and is ranked inside the top 250 in the world in Super Combined. Janelle Miller: Janelle, like Mark had a challenging season but hung in there to score two great slalom results in Slovenia, finishing the season ranked second New Zealander in Slalom. Janelle's best result was her 30 point result in Areh, Slovenia, she also backed this up with a 44 point Super Combined result in Panorama, Canada. |

| ATHLETE NEWS Well earned rest Following a very busy season our skiers are having a well earned break before they start getting ready for the coming winter. Some are in the body and fender shop getting repaired ready for another gruelling year and others are allowing their bodies to recover more naturally and starting the physical training again, not that it ever really ended. In summary the season was one of the best ever for several of our athletes: Sarah Jarivis is now our top ranked female slalom skier, finishing the season ranked just outside the top 300 in the world in her best discipline. Mickey Ross concluded the season with a wonderful 23 point result to finish as best ranked male in slalom and Leighton Winsloe scored his first slalom result under 40 points. Well done to all these athletes and the many others like Lucie & Emilie Tait Jamieson, Alice Ralston, Andrew Wylie and Virginia Orange. |
