Griffin & Jarvis Win Golden Bibs Following the ANC Series Finals

15 September 2009

Wanaka, New Zealand (15 September, 2009) Sarah Jarvis and Ben Griffin have won the Australia New Zealand Cup (ANC) golden bibs following the final series at Mt Hutt.

The golden bibs allow holders a 31 start position in all disciplines at Europa Cup, Nor-Am and World Cup races during the Upcoming Northern Hemisphere Season. Only Australian and New Zealand competitors are eligible for the bibs.

Griffin, of Ohakune, who also won the yellow Super Combined bib, said it was really important to win the overall golden bib. “Due to injury my points were not that great. My consistency this week means I can now start in the World Cup events, and do even better in the Europa and Nor-Am races.”

Jarvis, of Whakapapa, was equally as excited also winning yellow Super Combined  and the Giant Slalom (GS) bib. . “It’s great to win overall. It gives me a good start in all disciplines including a better opportunity GS and slalom which are my specialty events.”

The highlight to Jarvis’ success during the ANC series was winning the Giant Slalom race at Mt Hutt and securing 27 points.

The ANC overall men’s winner was Swedish racer Niklas Rainer, while Agnieszka Daniel Gasienica, of Poland, won the women’s.

Angus Howden, of Wellington, who trains with the Cardrona High Performance (HPC) Team, won the ANC men’s yellow Super G bib.
